Texture trend easily updates interiors
The spring season brings a very touchable texture trend to interiors. Home makeovers are focusing more on hands-on appeal and less on strict style rules. Fragrance features in textured pots, too.
Sumptuous velvet, shined metallic, soft denim, polished mirror and the slinkiest silks are transforming rooms with the littlest fuss. Better still, the vibe is more relaxed and comfortable. This creative concept is about mixing and matching materials to make a room more loved-looking and inviting. Co-ordination and order are out, layering and experimentation are in.
Sofas and chairs are a great place to introduce texture. Velvet and silk materials collide gorgeously together (the plush and the smooth) while embroidered fabric celebrates pattern and design. Go for cushions in different sizes and shapes in various shades (similar colours and contrasting ones) to create a point of interest.
Mirrored furniture brings polished, luxe looks to bedrooms, contrasting marvellously well with natural woven textures on curtains and throws or even the latest textured wallpaper. Metallic touches are easily achieved on candle holders and photo frames. Finish the textured look with curtains or blinds in patterned, pleated or plush fabric designs. Get a feel for more texture with these ideas:
